INSPIRATIONS

Today a few words about people who inspire me. Before I start, however, I would like to share with you a thought about what photography means to me.
I was prompted to write this short article by a certain statement, which I will talk about in a moment. Probably about two years ago, coming back from the plein-air, walking with a camera in his hand, a young man, seeing me intrigued, asked what I was photographing, to which I replied, light. In response, I heard that this is a very interesting approach. If we look a little wider at the picture, we can see that its main element is the contrast, i.e. the space between total darkness, in other words, the absolute lack of light, and its reflection from objects in this space, which makes it impossible to see anything but its source. A few years ago I wrote about it in the context of BW photography, trying to explain that the first very subtle space in which the human eye is able to see is the space of gray that expands with the amount of light supplied. It is also possible to record such an image using a sensor that records a color image. I'm writing about it because recently, listening to an interview with one of the famous photographers, Tomasz Tomaszewski, he mentioned that "color does not exist" - I think it's about the name of what we perceive in this way. Here was the first name of a man who inspires me not only as a photographer, but also as an extremely modest, empathetic, educated person who is able to skillfully share acquired knowledge and rich professional experience.
Well, I already replaced one of the creators.
A Spanish professor of psychology works in a very similar style, building his paintings based on the field that Dr. Alfredo Oliva Delgado.
Another is Hengki Koentjoro, a Filipino master of BW infrared landscape photography. While the first two gentlemen build the world based on life events, the latter composes it only as its certain element.
